11. Usually I am on the side of teachers...
teaching is a hard job. This teacher, however, is beyond the pale. I thought part of the education process was learning to think for oneself and learn how to think, critical thinking, etc.

Which reminds me: when I was in grade school, many of the boys LOVED The Three Stooges. They would go around pretend-poking each other in the eyes, going 'woo-woo-woo', etc. There were times when they could not 'transition' from the Stooges into playing kickball or baseball, or whatever. Kids are like that. They get excited about stuff. They go overboard.

But, as long as they were not doing it during learning time, then, so what? There is a time and place for everything-but for any educator to force their ideological beliefs down parents' throats, and, by extension, attempt to do so to children, is scary.

Glad the pricipal seemed upset with her. She went overboard by doing that. I am sure she spoke with the teacher about appropriate and inappropriate discussions afterwards.

Is this a newbie teacher?
