2. I don't know the statistics, but that just doesn't sound right
I live in a small town in Bucks County, north of Philadelphia. It was far more conservative 30 years ago than it is now that the fringes of the suburbs have crept within spitting distance.

My impression is that as the population of these towns grows, it's with soccer mom types -- exactly the people who are getting turned off by the Republicans and lining up with the emerging Democratic majority.

If your friend knows something different than that, I'd sure like to hear it.
