13. It doesn't work to boycott one day
Because the oil companies don't live on profits day to day. And if you don't buy on May 19th, that means you'lll have to buy the day before or the day after--sometime that week you will be buying gas.

Boycotts work by avoiding a corporation for a long period of time.

Want to make a difference? Why not STOP buying from Chevron/Texaco who posted 33% increase in profits this quarter (even though gas prices are up). Then send them a letter explaining why you are going to Shell/76/Arco.

Then in 2 months everyone can shift to the next big oil company sucking our money away with the same intent. Take away the profits.

Why not purchase a car that is more fuel effcient.

Why not walk/bike/carpool/public transport to work.
