19. The night Daddy ate dinner in the living room
It was the Cuban missle crisis. I was three years old and were eating dinner; our dining room was a nook at the side of the living room. The television was on for the news and suddenly my father just stood up with his plate in his hand, walked into the living room, and sat down right in front of the TV.

My sister and I were profoundly shocked because nobody was allowed to eat in the living room. We were sure he was in for big trouble.
