29. The wisest teacher I ever had told a story about his father's death
Standing in the hallway at the hospital, his brother told him that he was going to tell their dad that he loved him, no matter what it took. Mr. B told his brother that he wasn't even going to try.

I don't know why, but for some reason that story has stuck with me. I'm not sure why some people place such value on mere words. How could saying three little words outweigh a lifetime of deeds? Either it's obvious or it's not true. Three words can't change one into the other.
