19. Well. because it kind of is.
I mean, its über-violent.. but, its also almost.. exhuberant in its expression of the violence. I mean, there are no 'punches pulled' in the visual expressions of violent, sadistic activity in this film. From Uma's character gaining revenge on her rapist (Not a spoiler as it was mentioned at the beginning of this thread) by unabashedly slamming a door against his head and a doorjamb, repeatedly.. to things such as limb removal and decapitations done with just sheer rage and angst.

By the way - when I went to the theater ealier with my wife, I was warned of something by the ticket girl "this movie is extremely gory" - so I said "ok" - we bought our tickets and watched. But something REALLY disturbed me.

WHO THE HELL WOULD BRING THEIR 10 YEAR OLD OR SO KID TO SEE THIS MOVIE? Sorry, but its just NOT a movie for kids. 14-15, MAYBE - and thats only due to what's seen on TV now, compared to 10 years ago. But I mean, like, YOUNG kids were there - and that digusted me. Oh well.
