24. You may not want to believe this
but Yankee fans take this kind of defeat in stride. You won't hear us crying about how "we was robbed," or how the gods were against us, or how some curse is the cause of all our woes. You won't hear us beating up on the team or blaming individual players for "blowing it." You won't hear us blaming Joe Torre either, he made the right calls, the team just didn't execute. And, we sure as hell are not going to blame some poor sap-of-a-diehard-fan for doing what any of us would have done in the same situation.

The Marlins bettered the Yankees and were the better team this series. The Yankee bats went cold at the wrong times and the Marlins' pitching had a lot to do with it. So, congrats to the Marlins! You win a lot, you lose some. The Marlins won fair and square. No recount necessary; no recall demanded.

Dynasty over? Statements like that belie a lack of knowledge and respect for baseball, its history and its traditions. I'd expect crap like that from Ann Coulter, not a DUer who happens to be a baseball fan.

Why do they hate us (us being Yankee fans)? It's because of the dynasty, it's because under Torre the Yanks are in almost every WS, and it's because deep in your heart, you know that the Yankees not only deserved to be there THIS year, but that they'll probably be back next year.

Again, congrats to the Marlins.
