89. 1985 Ford Escort

I didn't own a car until I got married and we moved to the 'burbs. I lived in Boston before that so didn't need one. So, I was 25 and so excited.

We kept the car until last year. It still ran great. We had had it painted 5 years ago at the local technical school. The inside of the car was falling apart and it was so old, we couldn't find replacement items to restore it.

We bought our 16 year old son a used car this summer -- a 99 Escort.
