I have been sitting on this for years. It's been boiling inside me and I've got to let it out.

sarcasm: a cutting, often ironic remark intended to wound.

irony: The use of words to express something different from and often opposite to their literal meaning.

THE WORD YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IS IRONY. Sarcasm has a much more specific meaning.
