Last night I finally got a chance to cut the grass and within the first five minutes I got stung/bit 5 times by yellow jackets. They seem to have been in the ground under one of the bushes in front of the house. I didn't find any stingers so I might have just been bit-left knee, right calf, left pinky, right forearm and one got in my shoe and got the side of my foot about 5 minutes after I had seemingly quited the problem with the garden hose.
Damned bees.
The last time I got stung (I think) was when I was about 14-neighbor kid said "Hey look at this hole in the ground" and stuck his finger in it and out came the yellow jackets. He got it worse than I did-in his shorts- mine was just on my back.
So last night I finished cutting the front yard (very thick) and went inside. My wife checked me out and there was no apparent allergic reaction (allergies change over the years) but I took a Benadryl anyway.
Damned bees.
