I am sorry that I didn't see your post last night...oh, well!

But I do believe that the bright object is Venus, as you thought...

I get a little periodical called the Griffith Observer, and I could look in there...if I can find the current issue, that is!

Venus is often bright here, esp. when the Santa Ana winds are blowing.

I'm glad you're enjoying these pictures of mine!
