I have been thinking much of the same thing. I was raised Catholic, was in the choir, played the organ in church, the whole thing. I decided as an adult though, that I really didn't agree with much of conservative aspects of the dogma, and am not a church-goer anymore. I do still think of myself as a Christian, in the most positive sense of the term, i.e., caring for others, tolerance, concern for those less fortunate, etc. Catholicism made me the liberal I am in some ways.

And I have always liked Christmas for the reasons that you state - the music, the need for celebration as winter comes, the aspect of concern for others, the joy of it. So, I really don't see why folks can't enjoy this holiday in the way that THEY CHOOSE, as opposed to letting all the negativity drive their disdain for it. As adults, we pick how we want to live, we don't have to only do things the way they were done in the past.

So I really appreciate you saying this. :hi:
