81. the dB's
Obscure power pop band whose lyrics I quoted in my original message. Their failure to sell millions of records is cited by music snobs as proof that: a) the masses have no taste or b) some people just have rotten luck. Their founder Peter Holsapple has collaborated with a lot of other folks since the dB's broke up in the 80s, most notably as a contributer to REM's breakthrough album Out of Time. More details available upon request.
