36. No, it's not "different," it's definitely harder
At least people I respect who know something or two about acting insist on that, and I've heard pretty much the same thing from interviews with any actor who gets asked that question. In animated features, the bad actors stick out like sore thumbs (e.g. Claire Danes and Billy Crudup in Princess Mononoke).

Look, I'm not trying to claim that Vin Diesel is Lawrence Olivier or anything like that, but your argument that Iron Giant shouldn't count beause acting with voice only is somehow easier is patently, demonstrably false.
