The Libertine starring Johnny Depp as a lascivious poet in old England...

He's baudy, he's bad, he's drunken, wanton, a scallywag, a rogue... a lover.

Syphillitic, angst, angry, brilliant.

Malcovich finally plays a part without chewing the damn scenery, and by playing down his malcovichiness FINALLY reveals he can actually act outside of his common stratosphere.

Watch, eye, adore, appreciate and wait for Ruppert Friend... a delicious delight, a taste of a great 9 course meal to come in that one.

A brilliant, moving film. A well told story, solid as a rock; brilliant scenes, astounding photography, the costumes were seamless, the capture of the era breathtaking without it stealing the story. The story was the story, the rest of it was merely the gorgeous pages it was all written upon.

See this movie.
Somehow, find a way to see this movie... it was released for competition in March, and in europe before that... FIND a way to see this movie.
