89. Eh, same as usual--nothing to write home about.
Left an interesting job with a boss that drove me insane to take a job working with several people I had worked with at a previous place of employment. Got a nice salary bump.

Found out that everybody in the place is as boring as hell and mostly conservative to boot. Crappy insurance that's so bad no one goes to the doctor any more--we all go to doc in a box. Was told a couple of months ago we wouldn't be getting any holiday bonuses this year. I'm going to miss my big fat bonus I used to get, so no Christmas for me (which is fine--I don't need anything much anyway).

Still living with the six pieces of furniture I had when I moved into this apartment almost four years ago. One day the TV is going to fall through the box it's sitting on, and that'll be that.

I'm coming to dread 2007 even more than this year--I turn 50 next year and have shit to show for it. I got my hair cut a week ago, and there's so much gray now, I hardly know myself when I look into the mirror.

I find myself slowly slipping back into depression. The last time this happened, five years ago, I lost everything except a car full of belongings. It's taken me years to get back on my feet, and for what? I just don't see anything much worth writing home about.

So, no, 2006 hasn't been that great. I'm happy about the election though--that was pretty much the only real bright spot in the year.

I will, however, wish a better year for us all.
