The H.R. Manager at work is back on the crack pipe again-rant

Ok, I work at a place that has 4 shifts and it runs 24-7. Two weeks ago they said we MUST take a vacation day on January 2nd or 3rd (depending on your shift) as the plant would be shut down. That was GREAT because I would have had from December 29th until January 5th off, all by using only one vacation day.
Today I got an e-mail, this idiot says ALL staff must attend mandatory training on Jan. 2nd, if you have vacation scheduled you must clear it with the assistant plant manager?????
On the agenda is the quarterly safety meeting and two "team building" classes. He is insisting ALL shifts attend from 5:30am-6pm. That includes the two night shifts that usually work from 5:30pm-6am. He stated in his e-mail it was a "Unique opportunity" to get all the shifts together for these classes.
For me its going to be a "Unique opportunity" to call in sick :puke:

I really hate this job. The work isn't bad at all, even with the 12 hour shifts and being on your feet all day. Its all the bull crap that we have to do in order for other people to justify their jobs. I have made up my mind that I am leaving within the next two years, I can't stand stuff like this. I have been told I do a great job but they sure aren't trying hard to keep me around.
