I'm so excited, my best friend finally has a good fertility doctor.

She has PolyCystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) which is thought to be the most common cause of female infertility. She's been trying to get pregnant all of her adult life really, with not so much as a glimmer of false hope. It's all the more heartbreaking because she would make an awesome mom, and she and her husband are so looking forward to starting a family.

Well, after moving a few months ago she went to a new doctor, who has her on Metformin to treat the associated insulin resistance typical of PCOS, talked her into quitting smoking :woohoo: and working on her weight (the Metformin should help with this) and is starting her on Clomid again once the Metformin has a chance to get working.

My best friend is going to be a Mom someday. For the first time I know it.

I need to get the half-finished crib set I started sewing for her back when she decided to start trying to conceive down out of the closet and finish it up. I have a feeling she's going to need it soon. :D
