Stupid nostalgia?

My kids wanted to browse in a second hand / antique shop the other day, and so I took them in to look around. Lots of interesting knicknacks... stuff you'd think most people would call junk, but there it was.

One thing that grabbed my attention was a cologne bottle from Avon, shaped like a bulldog-shaped pipe. WEIRD thing. My dad had one when I was little. I opened it and it still smelled like the cologne inside.

What I don't get is how much I wanted to buy that stupid old ugly cologne bottle. My childhood was FAR from ideal, and so I don't know why I'd want to have it around, but I did... and still do. I can see myself going back there and forking out the cash to have that little reminder of my painful childhood. What the... ?

:wtf:
