Oh, NO - the unthinkable has happened!! I've passed into the "Over 1000 posts" category - without [View All]

even noticing! My 15 of minutes of fame, down the drain!!
No reams of congratulatory posts from people all over the globe.
No back-slapping camaradery, no candles, no cake.
No marquee on (or off Broadway), not even for a night. Or an hour.
No tip of the hat, no happy returns of the day, no fireworks, no band, no nuttin'.

And now, all of a sudden, I'm supposed to be a grown-up?
I'm supposed to know what all the abbreviations mean?
I'm supposed to know how to put someone on a Buddy List, and what being on it means?
I'm supposed to know how to post an appropriate link supporting any and all arguments I put forth?
I'm supposed to be familiar with at least 450 emoticons and have them within reach at all times?
I'm supposed to have had at least one or two drunken nights of frivolity with other DUers, staying up till dawn?
I'm supposed to know how to post a poll and make a graph?
I'm supposed to be able to say it's my birthday and immediately receive good wishes from enough cyber-friends to start a flame?
I'm supposed to be able to say 'I'm leaving DU' and be met with an avalanche of heartfelt arguments for taking the opposite action?

Well, it din't happen. I just posted some innocuous statement and silently passed into the netherworld of "Over 1000 posts."
I ran to the mirror, but saw nothing different - same hair, same eyes, same mouth. Same drool making my chin glisten in the light. Same me -
only... wiser. More aware. Better informed. And more - how shall I say? - DU-adorable.

Thanks, DU. In spite of the pressure to perform (now that I'm an "Over 1000 posts" kind of girl), I do love it here!!
