Certain birds like certain types of birdhouse styles.
I love the birds, but with a neighborhood full of kitties I don't feel it is fair to the birdies to tempt them into my yard. My cats are currently not allowed out but when they are, birdies better beware.
I would consider a bat shelter though for insect reduction and because I really like bats
