Gak, I hate that shit!!! Talk about ruining a perfectly good cupcake! :puke:
I am sick to death of the trend in cake baking to use nothing but fondant for the frosting/decoration. It tastes like crap -- nothing near as good as a buttercream frosting.
Whenever I see those cakes on the Food Network challenged, I have the same response -- that is architecture/sculpture, not baking. I have never seen a fondant decorated cake or cupcake that made my mouth drool and overwhelmed me with a desire to smash it in my mouth as quickly as possible.
