My younger sister named him, when she was infatuated with an Australian band called INXS. I have no idea why it because Awsi instead of Aussie but she preferred that spelling. Come to think of it, I think she called him Awesome Dude the first few days so that usage had the "w".
Dooger is what I called a dog when I was a young kid. My parents got a kick out of it so it stuck, to this day. When I see a dog I'll think, "there's a nice looking dooger..."
Anyway, when I was registering on message boards early this decade Awsi was laying beside me so I decided to honor him with my user name.
He was put to sleep in July 2005, about two months shy of 16.
