9. The overhand pitching motion...
especially if you throw a lot of curveballs and splitters, is extremely stressful on the arm. It really is one of the most damaging motions in all of sports. Pitching underhand is much less stressful but I bet top softball pitchers could probably strike out major league hitters...the shorter distance makes up for the loss in velocity and the release point of the pitch is different than in baseball, all told it makes it really difficult to get around on a pitch.
