while the new testament is fairly clear here, it is not only talking about money. Jesus is pointing out that where your treasure lies there will your heart lie also. A man can treasure many things besides money. Christ is telling us to not worry for anything and money is one of the chief things over which people of all ages have stressed. He is telling his disciples to throw off all things of this world that hinder growth and prevent one from coming into his spiritual reward...he is not telling you to cast aside all that you own...unless you are striving for it or stressing over it...
