49. Spelt is an ancient grain...
.
...still used in much of the world (the largest producer is India).
.
As an ancient grain, it is much like millet, which I had confused with milt -- which isn't
a grain at all. Milt is spilt on the ocean floor by horny molluscs n' fish n' such.

From Wikipedia: Milt or soft roe also refers to the male genitalia of fish when they contain
sperm, used as food. In many cuisines, milt is served fried. In Russian cuisine, herring milt
is pickled the same way as the rest of the fish, but eaten separately, sometimes combined with
pickled herring roe. In Japanese cuisine, the milt (白子 shirako 'white children') of cod (tara),
anglerfish (anko) and pufferfish (fugu) are a delicacy.

Once again, I took things too far and discovered "pickled dinkel".
