The most recent grandchild borne, that daughter wanted 'natural' they talked about inducing, but didn't. She did end up with an epidural, but had it turned down when the baby was crowning so she could feel enough to experience the birth in the fullest way possible.

My oldest daughter, with the help of a midwife had borne a 10.5 pound monster -all natural- the year before. She still brags about it. To be fair, this was her second child so she knew what to expect.

It all depends, and thank goodness there are options and decisions and the best outcome is a healthy birth for mother and infant.

What surprises me, according to my daughters is how much negativity they had gotten from people when they stated their intention to have 'natural' childbirth ("That's what drugs are for" says one women)
