23. I just hope it's better than A Feast for Crows, which was, quite frankly, BORING as hell
A third of the book was spent on characters I couldn't care less about (mostly the Ironborn and the Dornish). Another third was spent on the wild-goose-chase quest of the Maid of Tarth, who I honestly couldn't tell if she is just a sloppily written character or if GRRM really intended her to come off as a gullible idiot. Only a few chapters were spent on characters or actions that I was even halfway interested in.

The entire book is people sitting around and talking, or people walking through a castle and talking, or people walking through the woods and talking. Pages and pages are spent describing heraldry of hundreds of incidental families, very few of which we will likely reencounter in the last three books. (And even if we do, who cares?) Literally NOTHING happens in nearly 1000 pages.

So I hope this new one is better than that.
