á Á é É í Í ó Ó Ó ú Ú Ñ ñ

ONE little thing about MS that Mac-Linus users can't put down!1

I've Searched many times before for ways to get these accented, um, CHARACTERS, and couldn't get those number codes things to work, and recently found this site that lets you type in that other language with keyboard containing the accented characters. http://spanish.typeit.org/

But just now in the Gawker gossip site, somebody had adorned their comment with a musical note thing and somebody asked them how they did that, and the answer was MS Character Map, and there it's been all this time, from System Tools to Accessories to Character Map.

It's a little cumbersome: You're typing, then get to a place that needs the accent, so you have to go to the Character Map (which you can have to the side in the back so it sticks out where you can bring it to the front with a click, then you Select the accented letter, then you have to Copy it, then go back to your typing place and Paste it. Plus, this whole deal goes by the menu of whatever Font you want to use. In my favored Courier New I don't see the upside down exclamation and question marks, so will have to dig around to see which font has all of the things that are needed in one place.

Or another way, avoiding going to the Map/Select/Copy/Paste way, keep ALL of the letters in your Clipboard ready for Pasting into your document: á Á é É í Í ó Ó Ó ú Ú Ñ ñ Then Paste it ALL where you need ONE letter and Delete/erase all the ones you don’t need.

Hmmm, the keyboard website might still be the easier way.
