For one very pertinent thing, it helps put all those bogus claims by RKBA enthusiasts that "gun control is racist" in pretty stark perspective and shows them for the steaming pile of horseshit they are.

If someone is told Hitler is evil but keeps following him around, what conclusion are we entitled to draw? Especially if that person is going to alternate between defending Hitler and jeering at people who mention that Hitler is evil?
