I have often seen Israelis smeared by the utterences of uor most demented spokesmen. However, there's another point you're missing. A lot of these were published in Arab countries (plus Iran). These countries don't have a free press (with the limited exception of Al-Jazeera and it's like, and Al-Manar, which is probably beyond government control due to Hizbulllah's power), so anything appearing in their press is at least tacitly approved by that country's government (not to mention the fact that some of these appeared in the governments' official newspapers - e.g. Egypt's official paper ran an article describing how Isral was sending HIV positive prostitutes to Egypt to spread the disease).
