1. Arbeit macht frei. . .

One idea that has stirred debate among Marine officers would require all men to work, for pay, in military-style battalions. Depending on their skills, they would be assigned jobs in construction, waterworks, or rubble-clearing platoons.

So to instill democracy in Iraq we must build a police state first, complete with DNA databases and retinal scans, badges that must be worn at all times, and enforced public transport. . . all to make "free and open elections" possible.
