The vast majority of the Rethug machine is geared to getting people to vote against their personal interests. It worked and the Rethugs are firmly in control. Changes to make things better for middle and lower class citizens will not happen and this will breed more anger. The Rethug deflection of this anger from Rethuglicans to liberals and Democrats has been amazingly effective. (They have been playing this tune for years. It has worked. It needs to stop and the lies have to be exposed. This might also take years.)

I do wonder how long this can go on. There have been some amazing Democratic successes this year in the American West and those successes were earned by putting a mirror up to the anger myths and showing them for what they were. This can be done. It remains to be seen if it will be done.
