Republicans faced unreported pressure to ditch the DeLay rule [View All]

There was a hidden insurrection brewing that would have really humiliated the leadership. Nationwide constituent lobbying and demands for reps to state their positions were carefully catalogued on The Daily DeLay.

This post is from the day before DeLay himself moved to shelve the rule protecting his leadership position from the event of his inditement-

Ethics Chair Hefley (R-CO) supports overturning DeLay Rule
Now outgoing Chair of the Ethics Committee Joel Hefley (R-CO) just came out with the Democrats and said he'd support overturning the DeLay Rule tomorrow. Hefley just sealed his fate with the leadership, but he could have just provided the kind of cover the rest of the Shays' Handful (listed below) needed to overturn it.
