I just read in another post ( http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=114x13766 ) that according to David Clay Johnston, a guest on Franken's show, the government would be the one to control the investment of SS money.

If they control where it's invested, couldn't they buy up large percentages of the stocks of certain businesses, thus making them the majority holder and bringing them under the control of the U.S. government?

Or am I really confused?
