4. I grew up in the country.....and I totally agree

There is a different way of life there...slower and more in tune with the rhythms of nature. Thats just the way is has to be when you are livin' off of and countin' on the land to provide. Shotguns are another part of it....and it IS damn hard work.

I remember many years ago, a friend taking out his shotgun when folks kept riding horses on HIS trails. They were "invading" his land. We didn't think much of it at the time (Hell, I knew he'd never shoot a man or a horse, but THEY didn't!)

I've seen this often with people who live a quiet private life out in the "boonies" and suddenly something changes and they just want things to go back to the way life was before. (Don't really have to be country folk for that!)

I agree that WE are the ones "invading" and he has a right to be upset.
I think it makes a lot more sense to talk to him & try to reassure him that we'll be gone soon and will make sure his land is made as clean, etc as it was before.

Meeting anger with more anger only makes things worse. I too am concerned about the attitude here. What's wrong with trying a little human compassion and understanding?? Wouldn't we want that for ourselves or our families??
