He would have absolutely no say whatsoever about the party's platform on choice, environment, civil rights, tax reform, campaign reform etc. etc. etc. Lieberman would give them an "R" in their column but Lieberman would lose a slew of respect, approval and voice in the US Senate it he switched.

We were happy to give Jeffords a committee position because he agreed with us on so many issues and aligned with us perfectly for the committee he got. But I don't think Lieberman would have that kind of welcome in the Republican party.

He's got it really good right now because he can 'act like a republican' when it comes to the war but then 'act like a democrat' for all the other issues he supports.

Andy finally, with all the scandals going on in the republican party and the word 'impeachment' being floated around would you jump your yacht that is sailing smoothly in order to sail in a ship that was sinking?
