point out; but I chose him because he is one of the few members Congress with backbone and a member of our party with whom I agree on most issues. I could have chosen Feingold (but then you could have pointed out that he is, after all, a Jew) or even stretched it a tad and used Boxer, a senator I respect but have more areas of disagreement (only to have it pointed out that she is, after all, a woman.)

When we were practically given a senate seat in Illinois with the collapse of the opposition, I had hoped it presented us with the rare opportunity of getting an uncompromised candidate, one at the very least who would have gone on to stand with the nine Democrats and one Independent who supported what is left of the Republic by voting against the so-called "Patriot" Act.

The corporate media's gentle treatment of Obama should have served as fair warning that such was not to be the case.

Black or white, male or female, Christian or Jew, Obama has rather consistently proven himself to be a disappointment.

Business as usual on Capitol Hill.

Unfortunately Mr. Obama is no John Conyers. But then he is no Russ Feingold or even Barbara Boxer either.

So much the pity.
