12. How did you read that into my post?
Confusion and lack of clarity? I'm repeating what I've seen and heard legislators say on TV. It's not MY confusion and lack of clarity.

I'm NOT calling taking control of all levers of power in our government "blow-back". I don't fear it -- the legislators do. Several have said this very thing over the last several years (from many issues), so it's no secret. They fear that censure or impeachment will allow Bush to regain all those lost Republicans, out of pity. The stakes are high. They want a legally air-tight case first, and they don't have it yet. They also have scandalously weak support from ... US.

I'd prefer a stronger approach, myself, but the Democrats in Congress know that they'll get absolutely no help from us, not even from most of the firebrands. We're extremely fickle, and just as likely to complain about them no matter what they do. You do understand that Finegold is being attacked on-line (here at DU) for NOT going after impeachment too, right? They know they can't win with us, let alone the Press, so they're playing it safe. In contrast, the Republicans have just about always backed their politicians.

Your frustration is understandable. I'm frustrated, too. But leave me out of your circular firing squad. The direction for our fire is outward -- toward the Republican Partisans and especially the Bushistas. All it really takes is one well-placed shot, and they've been giving us hundreds of opportunities -- each week. Meanwhile, we could do a better job encouraging the elected Democrats, rather than screaming "TRAITOR! WHORE!" every time one of them fails to anticipate the on-line mood.
