has to understand that winning this one is going to be a top priority for the repukes and there is nothing they won't do - including throwing so much mud that they'll be in it up to their asses.

What worries me about Webb is that when The New Republic ran a solid piece of investigative reporting last month calling out Allen on his racist history, Webb's response was that the article hit "below the belt."

Allen has enough skeletons in his closet to sink his candidacy - if they are hammered home. Webb has got to take Allen's past, shove his face in it, and make him own it. It's not going to be enough to point out that he's a Bush rubber stamp. He's got to crack the folksy veneer and expose the faux Southerner, racist graffiti artist and Confederacy lover (to the point where he named his only son after a Confederate general/KKK Grand wizard) underneath.
