22. Nader deserves nothing but respect
I have always respected him and will continue to do so. The man is the most uncompromising sun of a bitch I know and I wish 1% of the Dem party had his fire. Ralph has a knack for getting at issues that are most pertinent and ignored by the two parties.

Some might think it resonable to blame Nader for 2000 but I think many Dems who deserve to have some shit thrown at them orchestrated that. There is still the disenfranchisement of voters in the 2000 election that not one Democrat signed on to oppose. That is what cost Gore and gave Bush the white house instead of a jail cell.

Lets not even forget that with the recount Gore still won Florida.

Nader didnt "cost" Gore anything in this election. If there is a section of the voting populace you wish to blame, point it to the 6,000 liberals in FL that voted for Bush in order to give the Dems a black eye.

Whole heartedly the blame rests with those that tampered with the election. Besides, blaming Nader kinda sounds a little too much like an entitlement mentality. No body is obligated to vote for this party and we arent going to have the threat of Bush to kick around anymore. If Democrats dont start acting responsible on issues that they as a party are supposed to uphold, we'll be looking at another 00/04 in 06/08.

It's the issues. Nader kicked ass on the issues in 2000 and won over people who dont vote by running with a message that "nobody should settle" and "If we should expect our representatives to vote their conscience, so should we".

After 04 I don't think you can get away with blaming Nader anymore. This party has a problem representing their fundamental issues.

Havent we witnessed at least that much in the last 2 years?
