21. Relax-- it's an election year...

and all sorts of silliness plays out on the DC stage. This was well orchestrated to play to the home voters, not the national stage.

Everybody knows exactly what the vote will be before it happens-- that's what the whips are for. Last time we won this thing by three votes, so it was too close for comfort, but everyone voting for it was more worried about a challenger claiming they "hated the flag" and all that bullshit.

Besides, it would have to pass through all the state legislatures, where no one really wants to deal with it, and it would likely just fade away.

Even if it did pass, it would be silly but would it be so bad?
