17. This should come as no surprise
In the 2002 election, Kennedy-Townsend was dragged down by the missteps of her boss, Glendening. I can tell you for sure that he was not very well liked in MD. My grandmother is a life long Democrat and has voted Republican ONCE - for Bob Erlich. Obviously, lots of Marylanders crossed lines (sadly, myself included) because KKT was not an appealing candidate.

In fact, it is well known that the MD Dem party persuaded Doug Duncan NOT to run in 2002 so as not to throw off KKT. Sadly, she did this herself by selecting a former republican, white guy as her running mate.

She probably would have won had Glendening not been rocked by a sexual scandal (Left his wife for a much younger assistant that got pregnant) in the months before leaving office. My guess is that Al Gore can relate to this.

O'Malley will be a great Governor! I voted for him as Mayor of Balmor.

No one else here will agree with this but, Steele will be a great Senator.
