33. Well, that is what I have been trying to say for months...

And getting reamed for it. I heartily believe that if you (in general) truly support this man that you should be doing much more than just typing "run Al run" on blogs everyday. I haven't seen much of an indication of any major movement on the part of any Gore groups to get behind his efforts or support them should their fantasy not come true ( matter of fact I have read that he will be considered a "has been" by some, and that his work now is simply a distraction), so what else should one think but that all of his accomplishments now really mean nothing unless they can be framed in a political context and subject to speculation rather than merit to keep it "interesting" for those who simply need something to talk about?

He called us to perform acts of civil disobedience for God's sake. He is looking for a MAJOR movement of people in this country to see the moral imperative of what we face regardless of politics if we don't get off OUR butts to do something now. And that is what we should be doing because without that, the toxic beltway in DC is not going to really budge on this. And as I stated in my response below he has done more in one year's time as a free man and environmental advocate and ambassador than ANY "president" regarding the climate crisis for the last thirty years.

Somehow though, I don't sense that as being truly important to too many on political blogs. I think the title of this OP should be, do you still hold out hope that we will get our act together in time regarding this planet. For those who love polls, they still show even after An Inconvenient Truth that only 38% of Americans think this a global problem. Now that may be wrong, I don't know... but if it isn't (and I can believe it is true based on what I see around me) Mr. Gore is absolutely right to continue his work from where he is doing it because it will not still gain the traction it needs to yet in order to carry this over the top politically. That is simply the reality of it.
