1. Lisa; great post.
Very eloquent. (Do you teach English?)
I know how hard it is for alot of people to get out there and participate in a campaign. It's not in my nature to do so, but I found that the people involved in the campaign make it almost impossible to remain passive and self-concious. The enthusiasm is contagious and it can take you right out of your shell. And you're so right about the volunteer coordinators. Frankly, I didn't think I could do anything more than stuff envelopes, but our volunteer coordinator has a way of starting us out on small things, then gradually increasing the amount of responsibility we have. It's gentle on-the-job training.
Lately, I've been thinking of what I'll do after the campaign season is over. You gave me some good ideas, Lisa. It's about time I get involved in my own community. Thanks for the great post and for the mention!
