Her name was Dagmar, and she came to the US in the 1890's. She married a Dane, and they settled down in Bosque County, Texas, which has a huge Norwegian/Lutheran community. The town was Cransfill Gap, Texas, and the Lutheran church there is still considered the "center" of the community.

In the 1970's, I believe, the King of Norway visited Bosque county and met my Great Grandmother at the nursing home she was staying in in Clifton, Texas. I still have the miniature Norweigan flag that was next to her bed when the King visited.
