I just moved from Nebraska and am in about that bracket. You might be surprised. Obviously depends on which toiwn in both CT and NE but Lincoln housing is not as cheap as it was and is not "bursting" either. I paid about $320K for a 2500sq ft 4/3/3 in 06 and expect to sell it at about $340K. Now in Greenwich of course that's a closet I understand that, but not ALL CT is Greenwich either of course. You're also looking at $6.5K in property taxes, $900 per car for license plate tabs, etc. Nebraska is a pretty high tax state all told.

Of course I moved to the only damn state out there with even higher property taxes, but at least the decline in population and the general economy in WNY means I should save about $100K on a comparable house.
