And Clinton destroyed the Democratic Party, lost House and Senate, and it took Dean to change the direction, not to speak about the fact that he lost part of his international credibility when action was needed because of his personal problems. I was living abroad at the time, and why he was much more liked than Bush (not hard to achieve), people were discussing his motives in Bosnia, Kosovo and in the ME (including Iraq bombings), attributing them to attempts to change the issue.

People liked Reagan (though it is hard for me to know why) and Kennedy. Everybody else seemed lightweight to European countries.

In addition, he never started the necessary transformations that would have helped people in difficult times (healthcare, securing pensions, Enron, ...) like now, though he was president through a period of great prosperity.
