Are People Being Fair to Hillary?

I have never been a real strong Hillary fan. However, I just feel it is imperative to be as fair and honest as possible and to present the Whole Truth about our candidates so that is why I decided to post the following opinions in Hillary’s defense:

From the beginning, for many months, Hillary was the primary object of attacks by both parties. Yet her policy consistently had been to attempt to ignore attacks and instead focus on failed Bush policies. When she finally breaks down and starts to defend herself by fighting back, things get even worse, she’s called a “bitch” along with other cruel names and attacks. This is so unfair. Who wouldn’t be crabby after being treated that way?

There have been many things being said against Hillary that are just not true or have been taken out of context and she is often not given any chance to defend herself. For example, she has been criticized many times for voting for the Iraq war. This is false. As she explained, she and Congress voted to allow Bush to use force against Saddan Hussien, to send inspectors in to stop him but that Congress never directly authorized him to start a war. And she and many other Democrats voted for the same bill because they were lied to, led to believe that Hussien had weapons of mass destruction to the point where Congress felt it had no choice but to use force. To find the truth, we also need to study her voting record which looks a lot better than any of the Republican candidates and some of the Democratic candidates.

Then other rumors criticized Hillary for wanting to extend the war. No, in the debate she firmly stated that she would want the troops out quickly, within 60 days.

John Edwards has attacked Hillary more passionately than he ever did Bush/Cheney in the 2004 campaign. Why? Do people honestly feel that Hillary would be worse than Bush?!! Even several Republicans have admitted that the Clinton Adm. was better than the Bush Adm.

Its Hillary’s POLICIES that really matter, not her personality, since its the issues that are going to directly affect Americans if she ever becomes President. If you stay with the facts and look at her actual voting record, you would find more of the truth about her. For example let’s compare her ratings from various interest groups with a potential opponent, John McCain Many people seem to think that John McCain is a moderate conservative who is more likable than Hillary but look at his ratings compared to Hillary:
AFL-CIO Clinton 93% McCain 7%
ALLIANCE FOR RETIRED AMERICANS Clinton 100% McCain 20%
AMERICAN CIVIL LIBERTIES UNION Clinton 83% McCain 33%
AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE UNION Clinton 8% McCain 65%
AMERICAN WILDERNESS COALITION Clinton 100% McCain 16%
AMERICANS FOR DEMOCRATIC ACTION Clinton 95% McCain 16%
AMERICANS FOR PROSPERITY Clinton 0% McCain 100%
AMERICAN PUBLIC HEALTH ASSOCIATION Clinton 100% McCain 40%
AMERICAN NURSES ASSOCIATION Clinton 100% McCain 20%
AMERICANS FOR THE SEPARATION OF CHURCH & STATE
Clinton 100% McCain 33%
AM. SOCIETY FOR PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS
Clinton 100% McCain 20%
BRADY CAMPAIGN TO PREVENT GUN VIOLENCE
Clinton 100% McCain 14%
CHILDREN’S DEFENSE FUND Clinton 100% McCain 10%
DEFENDERS OF WILDLIFE Clinton 100% McCain 40%
DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS Clinton 80% McCain 20%
LEAGUE OF CONSERVATION VOTERS Clinton 95% McCain 29%
NAACP Clinton 96% McCain 7%
NARAL PRO CHOICE: Clinton 100% McCain 0
NATIONAL ORGANIZATION OF WOMEN Clinton 96% McCain 13%
NATIONAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION Clinton 100% McCain 0%
NATIONAL FARMERS UNION Clinton 83% McCain 0%
NATIONAL COMMITTEE FOR A MORE EFFECTIVE CONGRESS
Clinton 95% McCain 20%
PLANNED PARENTHOOD Clinton 100% McCain 0%
UNITED AUTO WORKERS Clinton 93% McCain 9%

So, unlike what some people are claiming, Hillary does not support Republican values.

I recently saw a picture of Hillary’s face in a man suit which struck me as
being pretty callous. If Hillary has been sacrificing her femininity to take on a man’s job , maybe she feels she has no choice, that there’s just not that many good male leaders left who are willing to run for President or who have any chance of winning:
• Bill Clinton cannot run again
• Al Gore doesn’t want to run again
• John Kerry doesn’t want to run again
• Barack Hussien Obama has both his Muslim name and Muslim background stacked against him. I also don’t feel I know him very well yet.
• Dennis Krucinich does not have the money or the votes to win and he’s most likely too far to the left to be electable.

Finally, of course, there is Edwards. However, does anyone honestly believe that any these immensely powerful and wealthy corporations would ever allow John Edwards to become President? And if Edwards did by some miracle manage to win and get rid of all these corporations, guess what? Bye-bye jobs.

So I feel in this election we really need to look at the WHOLE PICTURE before making any final decisions.
