Ben Smith, of "POLITICO" (which is owned by far-rightwing Albritton Communications) to the rescue!!! ER, sorta....he screwed him on the one hand, and bailed him out on the other:

Dept. of stage management

Obama's roundtables in South Carolina today are getting him a bit of flack.

From Newsday:

The Barack Obama campaign organized an "economic roundtable" of South Carolinians, scheduled with the Illinois senator for 11:30 a.m. today. But nearly an hour and a half before the event — at 9:36 a.m. — the campaign e-mailed to reporters a text of what the participants "said."

"At the Columbia roundtable, Donna McGreevy, a mother of two grown sons, said her family was feeling pinched on all sides by the weakening economy," the e-mail read. “When it comes to the economy, I have firsthand knowledge and experience in just about every area where we are seeing problems."

CBS's Dean Reynolds, meanwhile, reports that a handicapped kid was abruptly wheeled away after a photo op, somewhat to her mother's surprise.

UPDATE: An Obama aide tells me that, in fact, the girl in the CBS piece was taken out by her caretaker, on her mother's instructions, before the event, and that the Obama campaign had nothing to with taking her away.

That's the full article. So, the closet Republican (cough) "reporter" giveth (the CAREGIVER took away the kid) and the Closet Republican "reporter" taketh away...the stage managed event was indeed stage managed....
